Leopard Club : Review - Tankograd - Leopard 2A6 Volume 1 and 2

One thing I do not like is that some of the interior control panels have been blurred out in the interests of security. If you consider that Leopard 2 was introduced into service inwith the last 2A4s being delivered init is amazing how Leopard 2 has kept pace with the latest developments in MBT technology. The colour prints originated in from Panzerbataillon in Pfreimd, Germany, which showcases the Tankogrsd 2A6. Ralph Zwilling tankovrad Tankograd has already published a book about Leopard 2A7.

For me this is one of the best pictorial reference books, a must-have book for anyone interested in the Leopard 2.

Even for the technically minded, there is a lot to enjoy here. To quote the back cover copy: We than have more In Taknograd photos of 2A6M this time and detailed walkaround shots and descriptions of the differences to 2A6.

Although this has been published as two titles, I will treat this review as if this is one book. The first 13 pages take an interesting look at the evolution of the Leopard 2, which is surprisingly complex.

Some manufacturer illustrations, complete with keyed information, are included for more clarity. The first chapter introduces into the hull.

Only the front and rear of the vehicle shows any differences, while the left, right and plan views are totally identical to the 2A6 drawings in the previous book. In unprecedented detail, this publication shows the tank's development, technology, variants and active use.

They are well written lleopard researched and not-at-all dull reading. The last few pages of the book provide line drawings of the Leopard 2A6 in 1: The section covers the tools used for maintenance, and the signage around the workshop specific to Leopard 2 MBTs in German military service.

The text is available in German as well as in English. With the removed turret, details of the gankograd torsion bars, the fire-extinguishing system for the engine compartment and the hull interior is presented in the chapter about the turret ring. The chapter on the engine deck is full of details which hidden if the turret isn't removed.
